Kobe, Lakers snap C's win streak(a picture says a thosand words)

Yes. I do have to report bad news, once and a while. It's only fair. Let's face it, it does not happen ofte, but The Celts Faltered last night. On Christmas of all nights. I am usually depressed at Christmas time, but c'mon. They completely beat themselves. In a game full of questionable calls, the Lakers get their revenge in a 92-83 win over the C's on Christmas day. Thus ends the fourth longest win streak in NBA history in a storied rivalry game. The Lakers are the top team in the NBA,
FOR NOW..............

Celtics make history, Yet again.

Good news first. On Tuesday Dec 23rd 2008 The Green Machine acheived the title
"Best Celtics Winning Streak", by destroying the 76ers.Celtiics top 76ers for 19th straight win. Another night, another team record. Kevin Garnett and Rajon Rondo each scored 18 points as the Celtics captured their franchise-best 19th straight victory in the C's pounding of Philadelphia, 110-91. These guys make it all worth watching.
I personaly believe they are better, and stronger, than last year. They are on their way to becoming the best Celtics team ever(Well at least my time).

Bruins send New Jesey to hell

Well, Christmas Day has come and gone. Fabulous time with family, just one damper(see the first blog).
Tuesday night was yet another GREAT night for Boston Sports fans.(see pevious post)The Buins made yet another team look completely incompitent. Tim Thomas made 25 saves for his third shutout of the season, as Boston continued to roll with a 2-0 win over New Jersey at the Prudential Center. Yes! kids that makes 6 in a row.
stay tuned for our next exciting update. Till then, Skate on boys.....

The Pats bury the Cards

After Raiding Oakland Last Sunday, the boys were ready for a challenge at home. The old Cardinals showed up, and it was not even close. It shouldn't be much of a contest when a team from Arizona plays a team from New England during a blizzard and the Patriots proved just that. Matt Cassel threw three touchdown passes in the Pats 47-7 win. LaMont Jordan added two scores on the ground, Jabar Gaffney had 90 yards on five receptions, while Wes Welker registered 68 yards and one score on seven grabs for New England. Sammy Morris rushed for 88 yards on 15 carries and Jordan finished with 78 yards on 20 touches. The Seahawks did us the biggest favor, and handed The Jets a loss. It was not pretty to see Brett go down so hard, but Down went Farve. Next Sunday, The last game of the season. Buffalo. We should win. Hope the fish get squished, and the division is ours.

Celts Nix the Nicks

The Celtics Are The Best Team by far. Rajon Rondo led the Celtics with 26 points as they downed the Knicks 124-105 in Boston. Rajon Rondo scored 26 points and doled out five assists, as the Celtics tied a franchise record with their 18th consecutive victory, a 124-105 rout of the Knicks. The C's 18-game winning streak is the longest since Houston's 22-game run last season. The win also helped Boston match the best 28both of which started 26-2 en route to NBA championships. Ray Allen and Paul Pierce scored 18 and 17, respectively, for the Celtics, who will attempt to set the franchise record for consecutive wins against the 76ers. Kendrick Perkins had 12 points and 12 boards in the win. Next up,Tuesday Night. They go for win 19, that would give them the title of best franchise start ever.

Bruins give St Louis the Blues

It has been a while since I blogged, but I am back. The Bruins are on a tare. They have now won 5 straight. Only 15 left to match Celtics. After losing Patrice Bergeron(With another Head injury)they needed a win. Well they got one. Rookie Blake Wheeler scored twice as the Boston Bruins doubled up the St. Louis Blues, 6-3, at the Scottrade Center. Michael Ryder posted a goal and an assist and David Krejci collected three helpers for the Bruins, who have won five in a row and improved to 19-2-1 in their last 22 games. Phil Kessel recorded two assists to extend his points streak to an NHL-best 18 games. The fifth overall pick in the 2006 draft, Kessel has 14 goals and 14 assists during his amazing run, which is the longest such streak by a Bruin since Adam Oates recorded points in 20 straight games from January 7 through February 20, 1997. Manny Fernandez made 29 saves to earn his 11th win of the season.

Pats comeback from embarrasing loss

The Pat's looked pathetic last week, and got steam rolled by The Steelers, but they took a page out of The Bellicheck magic book. They were going up against one of the worse teams in the NFL, with their 2nd string QB. You would think No Problem. Well this is a Pats team that has a depleated(to be nice)defense, and just when you think things could not get worse, they lost a KEY man Teddy(The Fighter)Bruschi to a knee injury, only way you see him play, is IF they make it to The Super Bowl, and Vince(The Wall) Wilfork out as well. Matt Casell may not play, due to his father's passing away. One shall see what happens this week. They did survive with a 4th quarter comeback. MVP? WES(THE MAN)WELKER. Next Sunday They face The Raiders. HUM! Can you say, Snow Bowl rematch?

Pac Man In Plexico Out.

I know this is old news by now, but I had to Say a little something on the subject.
Pac Man did his time, and now he deserves to play.(Dallas? Americas Most Wanted Team) Plaxico on the other hand, got what he desrved. YOu don't talk crap about your team, and do the things he did, and expect not to have it all catch up to you. After the dust settles on this, Shooting yourself in the foot is going to be the least of your pain Plexico. Can you say DUMB@!*?

Celtics win 12th straight.

On Sunday Dec. 7th, it was a great day, to be a Boston Sports fan. The Celtics took it to The Indiana Pacers in over time. It was a great game all around. The MVP was once again, Rajon Rondo. The kid, just keeps getting the job done. They then had 3 earned days off. The next victim is The pathetic Wizzards on Thursday. I think Washington should do a disapearing act.

The Bruins Are Still Red Hot.

The Bruins keep proving that, Hockey is worth a look at,in Boston. They keep improving, with each game. Even when they lose one(like tonight 3-1)they still know what is needed, to get it right the next night.

GO YELLOW AND BLACK!!!!

Bruins Bolt The Lightining

Bruins Breeze by Tampa Bay Lighting. The Bruins started slow against the Lightning, but two goals from Phil Kessel helped Boston beat Tampa Bay 3-1 at the St. Pete Times Forum. The B's improved their road record to 8-3-3.

Bruins Clip Flightless Redwings 4-1

The Buins continue to out play their opponents. This time it was a defenseless Detroit team(which comes as no surprise for Detroit. Yes the Lions will probably make history, in a bad way) Hey! They still got the Pistons, I guess. Thomas is starting to sho signs of the old Andy Moog days. They have a deserving four day rest.
Let's keep the wheel rollin and get another W. Players of the game are the two pictured.

Celtics declaw the Bobcats. 89-84

I had a great Thanksgiving, I ate a lot, and watched Football. After Wedensday nights terrific outing(Ray,thanks for my second chanceAllen scoring big, and Rondo, running around and around), the C's took care of buisness on Friday night against a Philly team, that just was not gelling. Yesterday The Bobcats came roaring towards us, but Pierce came in, and took care control, of the situation. After going to my
20th High School Reunion, and seeing people that have changed a little bit, and I really have not, I was looking forward to some sports comfort. #2 feelgood moment of the weekend. We shall see how tonight turns out. I perdict a stormy evening, for The Sunshine boys of Orlando

V Tek returning to Sox?????

The latest news on #38, the Sox offered him a 1yr contract. You can say what you want about Jason Veritek, but the one word that best describes him, would be
LOYAL. Yes he has been struggling(to be nice)the past few years on the offensive end, but when you think of great catchers in the game right now, his name pops up. He has been the biggest boost of confidence, both on, and off the field. Leadership, dependability, confidence, and positive attitude, are just a few things in this man's
multi utility belt. I can understand The Sox point of view, we need a offensive, as well as defensive power catcher, and given his age, plus his performance slump, it may be the end of a great run for a great guy. His agent, may convince him to shop his talents elsewhere, so he can get the years and $ that he thinks he deserves. Only time will tell. Jason, you will always be #2 in my top list of Sox catchers.

Fortune 500. Patriots 48 Dolphins 28.

Foxboro's finest, showed up for this game. The Pats are looking good. What can I really say about the game. One word sums it up. Exciting. 530 yards of offsense second most in franchise history as Cassel & Co. avenge home loss to Dolphins.
Randy Moss had 2 td's. Mr. 33 The other Big Kevin, had 2 Td's. Cassel, He proves game after game that, coach B knows what he is doing. Another big key to Cassell's success, he is not afraid to run, when he sees an opening. 1 Rushing Td. The Pat's were dominating, unfortunately so were the Jets. Yes we had no gain on them, but no loss either. A win is a win. The only stupid thing, was when Matt Light and Channing were ejected, temper temper kids. Can't we all just get along. MVP, ofcourse you guessed it, #16 Mr Cassel. Next victim is Pittsburgh at Gillete.

Celtics win fith straight.118-103

Celtics played an early game yesterday. I did not like, that it was up against the Patriots, but that is what Picture in Picture, was made for. The boys in Green came out with loaded guns, and when it was over, there was not an enemy standing. Toronto had no chance. Should have been closer, with a team, that was a contender, but as many others can attest, You Just Don't Mess With The Boys From Boston. Yes! This means you too Dolphins. Ray Allen was th MVP of the game. Acheiving 21pts. Tony Allen, Kevin Garnet, and Rajon Rondo came in next, with 15Pts. Next Game Wedensday, Golden State. Can you say "Big Splash?"

Garnett, Celts bury T’wolves

Every game The Celtics show why they are the BEST there is to offer.
Friday Night was NO different. It had to be a little bittersweet for #5. Kevin Garnet
spent 12 seasons with the Timberwolves, and the fans loved every minute of it. He holds at least 8 records for that team. The fans were pretty quiet the whole game. It was like, do you realize what is going on? Nobody disappointed. K. G. did ok. I do not think anybody was really outstanding, so I nominate the whole team, as the MVP of the game.

Bruins start fast, keep on rolling.

The Celtics on top, that is not new news. Pats on a tare and on the heels of the leader, quite nice, but the Bruins the best in the East? Something we have not heard in quite some time. I gave up on actually watching NHL a while ago, but I have followed through the paper. The Boston Bruins are on fire. They have been dominating some of the greatest teams out there, so the fact they beat the Florida panthers, should come at no surprise. They out classed, out shined and outplayed, a team who is competing for the worst record in NHL. Good effort by all. OT Shoot outs make the game, even more exciting.

Celtics 98 Pistons 80

What can I say about last night's display of Basketball? The question was, can The Celtics take care of The Pistons Twice? Well, let's just say, RONDO ANSWERED. True The Pistons are not the team they were last year. The trade of Billups really hurt them. Allen Iverson, is not the player he used to be. Rondo was 7 of 11 with 8 assists, against Iverson. He had a total of 18pts vs 16pts. My guy Eddie, was "in the
HOUSE", he was on fire. Leon (I aint no Teletubby)Poe, was his great defensive self, and even Scalabrini(who started again, with the return of KG)did a good job. The fans love him, and want to see him shoot the ball almost every time. Tony Allen really stepped it up. He made his shots, and that is why he is picture of the night as well as Rondo. Watch out Minnesota your next, and KG is just waiting to pounce.

Celtics 110 Nicks 101

Another exciting win for the C's. The Nicks were in serious trouble the past few years, but this year they have stepped it up. Tuesday was not a dissapointment. They played hard, but the best team won. With Kevin Garnett out of the picture(Temper Temper)the boys had a disadvatage. Star of the game, was our boy Rajon RON..DO, and Brian Scalabrini(with his first start of the season)had a big bucket, to ice the game. Not bad for a Litttle Redheaded Italian boy.

Dustin Pedroia Wins AL MVP

Cliff Lee won The Cy Young Award.(Dice K came in 3rd)Nothing against Him, but I believe pitchers should not be included, when voting for The MVP. Just like David Ortiz got jipped, back in 2004/2005, due to him being being the D.H.Cliff Lee was #1 Roy Halliday was #2, and Dustin Pedroia was #3 in the on line poll. Then on 11/18/08 The announcement came. He hit .326 with 17 home runs, 83 RBI, 118 runs and 20 stolen bases. He carried this team when no one else could. Kevin(the dirt dog)Youklis was close, but Dustin had that extra spark. Let's see.. 2007 Rookie of The Year, 2008 MVP, perhaps 2009 Man of The Year, Waite.. I May have spoken too soon.

Couldn't of happened to a nicer guy.

The Dallas Mavericks are in trouble. The team is second to last in their division, the players are not performing well, and now their beloved GM is in hot water. Mark Cuban was arrested for Insider Trading. Cuban allegedly violated various federal securites laws when he allegedly sold 600,000 shares of Mamma.com Inc. in 2004. He wanted to use the money to buy The Chicago Cubs. Way to go Marky baby. Maybe Martha Stewart can give you some advice.

Browns win: 29-27.

The Cleavland Browns, have a so so team, but now they should start winning more games. They got the right man calling the shots on the field. Brady Quinn, is a fine quarterback. He needs a little help out there. Romeo did a fine job, when he was in New England, but that was not a head coach job. Now that he has a few seasons under his belt, he needs to step up, and do his job. When men are not cutting it in the non athletic world, they are fired. The Browns have a guy named Mr. Edwards, and he is terrible. You have to replace these guys. Sit them on the bench, until they can perform up to par. Don't be a Grady Little. It was a good game, and they Won. Now More focus on going forward. It was a bonus, that the Bills lost, now we have a competition going on here, in the AFC Eastern Conference.

Winners and Losers

Friday night the Champs took on the Nuggets. It was the debut of Chauncey Billups, as a Nugget, and he did not dissapoint. K-Mart was a big contributor, Carmello Was good, even Ne Ne(No!No)was a factor. As for the Celtics, they looked Real good in the first quarter, with Ray Allen making up for his previous performance, with 18pts in the first quarter, then it was a close 2nd quarter, but after half time, you knew it was not going to be good, and it was not. The World Champions, who were unstopable, last year, just did not have the right stuff. Once again The bench needed to step up,and did not. The Next game against the Bucks, that was a different story. They looked good. Passing Well, shooting well, and defending well. Until the fourth quarter. They got a little sloppy, and lost the lead. Overtime came, and they hung in, and got the W. I was proud of them. Good Hustle. Pete Rose would of been impressed.

Sunday's noteworthy NFL games. Steelers VS Chargers, First ever 11 - 10 Win. No Pittsburgh Touch Downs. Who says you can't win a game on field goals. The other Pennsylvania game was, just as good. Eagles VS Bengals, 13 - 13, first ending tie, since Falcons VS Steelers 2002. The Game of the night, Primetime, Was The Boys From Dallas Vs The Boys from Washington. It was a good game. The Cowboys were struggling lately, but Mr.Tony Romo was back, and he did not let his men down. I think it was a wise choice, to leave Jessica at home. They won 14 - 10. Co MVP's of the game were,
Marion Barber(no relation to the other two)Offense, and Jay Ratcliff Defense(2sacks).
See you tomorrow Sports fans. Till then, this is Donato your roving Blogger saying,
Keep The Faith.

Sort of behind.

Well, it was a busy weekend. I am a little behind on my blog. I had to go Saturday to my niece's 9th B Day party. It was nice. She does not turn 9 until Nov 25th, but it was the only free weekend left. Sunday, I judged a Chili contest. I never did that before, it was interesting. 12 contestants, the Chili ranged from weak to mild hot. I personally was happy, that none were spicy hot. I like Chili, but mild hot is my limit. There were not any with the right amount of meat veggie ratio, but the winner was very close. There was even a white Chili, that was different. The next blog is a recap of Fri-Sunday games.

NY JETS 27 NE PATRIOTS 24

What a tough one to swallow. The Pats did not look good in the first half, but Cassel was doing a pretty good job. The second half started, and the Patriots we have come to love so much, showed up. Defense was fantastic, sacking Favre, stopping them cold. Cassel did a great job, he looked confident directing the offense. It all came down to a touchdown, to tie it up, and all game(practically all season) we wanted to see a connection between Moss and Cassel, well ask and you shalll receive. We were tied 24 - 24. OT started, and the defense did not show up. Not one but two passes, to the same guy, WIDE open. That was the nail in the coffin. Jay Feeley was ready to kick the 34Yrd field goal, and it barely made it inside the left upright, and there sadly was your game folks. Matt Cassel did good, but he still needs to complete the longer passes. Less than 30 yard passes, are not going to do it. The defense got hurt(pun intended) do to the injuries of two key players. Defensive End Ty Warren(Groin) and Linebacker Adalius Thomas(Forearm)
The fact that Brady is out, did give cause for discouragement at the beginning, but now 11 weeks in, Cassel is at least showing he can step up, when needed. Next Stop Miami. Fish territory. Best of luck guys.

CELTICS 103 HAWKS 102

It was another nail biter, at The Garden last night. Everyone stepped it up.
Before the game, one of the anouncers, asked The Hawks Mike Bibby, what he thought of a certain Bostonian player, and he replied "who?" Then as the anouncer walked away, Bibby started talking trash(again). Last year he accused our fans, The Boston Faithful, of only "jumping on the band wagon". He obviously does not know about loyalty. Durring the game, the refs were calling horrible fouls on the Celts. One particular one was involving our friend Bibby. He was being guarded, and went to take a shot(which he knew he would not make), he lifted his leg, (in which I think was intentional) right inbetween the defenders legs. Classy. Enough about Bibby.
The bench looked good. Leon Poe led the way, with his smart defense, and his sweet offense.
Big Baby was quiet, when he returned, after leaving in the first quarter, due too back issues.
and my man HOUSE gave his best. Perkins was Perkilating, Rondo was ALL around, Kevin Garnett was his FIRED UP self. Ray Allen was a little below average, and what can you say about the man of the night, Pierce, Pierce, PAU-----L PIER----CE. An electrifying performance. Especially in the last 30 seconds. The Hawks had the ball, they pass it to Williams, he shoots, and it is good. The Celtics take a time out, with 2 seconds left in the game, and trailing by 2. They come back, and they pass it to whoelse, but Captain our Captain, MR. PIERCE. he turns around, shoots, and gets a 3 pointer of his own. Swish..nothing but basket. That was the game folks. What a barn burner. I think Paul Pierce was thinking " Hey!!! Williams, you think your shot was good, there's one with style, just for you."
Next up for our boys, Chauncey Billups and The Denver Nuggets on Friday. Till then, this is Donato your #1 fan signing off.
GO PATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
